How Coach works

Three short things to do with your learner, built from what they just played. Every French word comes with its English, so you don't need to speak French.

Three steps

  1. Your learner plays a few activities or games.
  2. Coach looks at what they played: words that are still slipping, words they just got strong at, and the topic they're working on.
  3. You sit together for five minutes and try one idea.

What Coach suggests

Quick check · 5 min

Revisit words that are still slipping

Take turns choosing one word. The other person says what it means, then uses it in a short sentence. Keep it light: one pass is enough.

Learner teaches · 5 min

Let your learner teach the newest strong words

Ask how to say each word, what it means, and where it could be used. Make one playful mistake and let your learner correct you.

  • le canardduck
  • la vachecow
  • l'oursbear
Teach the topic · 5 min

Ask about the topic they're on

Ask your learner to show you words from the topic. Repeat each one, guess its meaning, and let them correct you.
